Message in a Bottle

Ahoy!

Welcome to my stop on the Club Scrap Lagoon Blog Hop. If you'd like to start at the beginning of the Club Scrap hop, click HERE.

Retrieving the Message In A Bottle from my post box.
The Lagoon Collection inspired me to create a "message in a bottle" mailable greeting.

Did you know you can ship just about anything through the mail as long as it has a proper address? Just for fun, I mailed this bottle containing a message to my daughter.

Purchase a corked flat plastic bottle at a local craft store.

Add a variety of items including, Lagoon Shell Sequins and Mini Bottle, beads, seashells, confetti, a mini umbrella, and of course a message on rolled up paper.

Items included in the bottle.
Message created with Club Scrap's Lagoon UM stamps.

Make sure the rolled message extends into the neck of the bottle to ensure that the recipient can remove it easily.

Wrap Washi Tape and a small rubber band around the neck and cork to prevent it from coming loose during the mailing process.

Cut two 2x4" Club Stamp Quad print panels. Add stamped images, a sentiment, and mailing information and adhere to the bottle with Bookbinding Glue.

Postage to mail the "message in a bottle" was $2.67. This is a bit more than a standard letter but well worth it to see the look on my daughter's face when she retrieved it from the mail box.

Next on the hop, check out what Lilian at The Leaf Studio is doing with the Lagoon Collection.

Wishing you smooth sailing,
